Maeve’s Journey: Finding Her Place at Design Ready Controls

Maeve knew that Design Ready Controls was the right place for her from the moment she first learned about the company. She recalls, “We used to have career fairs, and I remember hearing about Design Ready Controls and their unique model—I just knew it was the place for me.” The fast-paced environment with high volume and quick changeovers convinced her that she would both learn a lot and be able to make meaningful contributions. During her interview, Maeve had the opportunity to tour the production floor, and she vividly remembers seeing the control panels and instantly feeling hooked!

The Impactful Internship Journey

For Maeve, this internship has clarified the career path she wants to pursue full-time. She says, “This is the best place I have ever worked.” Maeve hopes to continue working in manufacturing, where she can apply what she has learned in school every day. She values the hands-on nature of the work and the sense that her efforts are making a real impact—both within the company and beyond. Maeve added, “It has been incredibly rewarding to see the concepts I learned in school come to life and to expand my knowledge of testing and automation.” Her biggest goal is to never stop learning.

Hands-On Projects: From Start to Finish

Maeve is very hands-on with the work she is doing. She is currently finishing one of her line projects that she has been working on for a month. Maeve shares, “It’s been really cool to have a long-term project and finally see it all come together.” Her next exciting project will be building a test jig—a small panel used at the end of the production line to ensure the master panel is fully functional and ready to be shipped.

Looking Ahead

After this summer, Maeve plans to continue deepening her knowledge of test and automation within the manufacturing industry. She says, “I plan to keep moving onward and upward.” Outside of work, Maeve enjoys traveling whenever she has free time, always eager to explore new places and gain fresh perspectives.
