2026 Internship Overview

An internship is more than a line on a resume. It is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, build professional skills, explore career possibilities, and discover what it means to be part of a team.

At Design Ready Controls, our internship program is designed provide the next generation with meaningful experiences that develop the individual and the opportunity to impact how we solve control panel problems for original equipment manufacturers.

This year, our interns led with strong execution across their roles and departments to support our mission to solve control panel problems. Working in Sales, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, Software Development, Test & Automation, and Supply Chain, they made meaningful contributions to our growth and innovation. Throughout the summer, they learned and demonstrated our core values of candor, innovation, earnestness, collaboration, and integrity in both their work and teamwork.

Inside the World of Manufacturing

The internship program also provided students the opportunity to experience the many career paths within manufacturing. Through their projects and guidance from leadership, interns learned the importance of accountability, teamwork, and detail at scale.

Weekly Lunch & Learns and workshops connected interns to company leaders and professional development opportunities (resume building, Microsoft Suite, LinkedIn etc), to help them build skills that will support their future careers.

Beyond the workplace, interns had opportunities to build relationships and experience the collaborative culture that makes Design Ready Controls unique. From Intern Guess Who and the company Bingo to the Intern World Championships, these activities encouraged teamwork, creativity, and plenty of friendly competition. Our interns also participated in the company Bags Tournament, where Sam and Jared earned second place—congratulations!

During Act of Service Day, the interns worked together to help clean up the area around the Design Ready Controls facility. The day was a meaningful reminder that being part of Design Ready Controls means contributing not only to our company, but also to the communities around us.

Connecting Manufacturing Teams

A key part of the internship experience was seeing manufacturing in action. A customer of Design Ready Controls partnered for an intern exchange program where both company interns could tour and learn more about each manufacturing processes and company culture. These visits created opportunities for students to share experiences, learn from one another, and build connections beyond their own organizations.

Our interns also visited Design Ready Fabrication, to learn more about the metal fabrication processes. Experiences like these helped connect their individual projects to the full scope of manufacturing and showed how collaboration across teams turns ideas into quality products.

Building Skills for the Future
